Top pro entertainment for conventions, conferences and corporate events. Modern Dueling Pianos brings two pianist-singers, two piano shells, full sound and lighting, and an all-request show to convention hotels, resorts and casino ballrooms across Northern California, Reno, Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas.
Convention-proven
- Modern Dueling Pianos played Asset Living's convention at the Peppermill Reno.
- James Michael Day played a solo show for the Darryl Turner Corporation's Title Sales Mastery conference at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, and they rebooked him for 2027.

Where we fit in your program
- Welcome receptions: Attendees arrive tired from travel and need something easy to walk into. Requests give every table a reason to talk, and the room warms up fast.
- Opening and closing nights: Start the convention with energy or send everyone home with a big finish they talk about on the flight back.
- Awards dinners: Quieter sets during dinner, walk-up music for winners, then the full sing-along once the trophies are handed out.
- Hospitality suites: Solo piano and vocals from James Michael Day fit a suite or VIP lounge where guests want to talk and still hear their song.
- Sponsor and vendor parties: Keep clients in the room and talking. We can thank sponsors by name from the stage and dedicate songs to their teams.
- Sales kickoffs and incentive trips: Call out top performers, regions and teams, and let the people who hit their number pick the next song.
Built for meeting planners, DMCs and hotel convention teams
A convention day is long. By the evening program, attendees have sat through keynotes, breakouts and the expo hall. The evening event is where a convention brings people together or loses them to their hotel rooms. A dueling piano show gives them a reason to stay: two pianist-singers, two piano shells, full sound and lighting, and a set list written entirely by your attendees' requests. Whether you are the planner, the destination management company or the hotel or casino sales team building the package, we make the evening the easy part of your program.
Clean, corporate-friendly sets
Corporate and convention shows are clean by default. We match the content to your audience and brand, keep the music low during speeches, and change direction right away if your team asks. If you want the late part of the night a little looser, tell us and we will match it.
Your company in the show
Send us names ahead of time: award winners, the CEO, the region that won the sales contest, the manager who always requests the same song. We work them into the show with shout-outs, dedications and company or industry jokes, and we can rewrite a chorus around your company name. Every song is a request, so a mixed room of ages, regions and job titles all get a say.
MC help and a mic for your program
We provide an extra microphone for welcomes, sponsor thank-yous, awards and announcements, so the speaking portion runs from the same stage. We can introduce speakers, lead the room into a toast or a big reveal, and get everyone back on schedule after the break.
Setup and sound
The show is self-contained. We bring two piano shells with professional keyboards, a full sound system with subwoofer, stage lighting and the extra mic. The room needs a level area about 16 by 12 feet and standard power. We work with in-house AV teams and banquet staff, can use house sound when it makes sense, can feed audio to your AV team for hybrid or recorded events, and plan load-in around your room flip. Liability insurance is available, and we invoice your company with the paperwork your accounts team needs.
Where we travel
We are based in Northern California and travel to convention hotels, resorts and casino ballrooms across the region: Sacramento, San Jose, San Francisco and the Bay Area, Napa and Sonoma, Reno and Lake Tahoe, and Las Vegas. Travel is built into your quote, so there are no surprise line items later.
Solo piano and piano karaoke for the rest of the convention
Not every part of a convention needs two pianos. For a cocktail reception, VIP dinner or hospitality suite, co-founder James Michael Day plays a solo piano and vocal show. For an after-party, his live piano karaoke puts attendees on the mic with a real pianist behind them instead of a backing track. Either can be booked on its own or alongside the dueling show on a different night of your program.
